10 Enchanting Natural Gold Coast Elopement Venues from a Gold Coast photographer

Once upon a coastline, somewhere between the rainforest and the reef, there's a stretch of Australia that couldn't quite decide whether it wanted to be a jungle, a mountain range, or a beach, so it became all three. That's the Gold Coast for you. And lucky enough for me, It’s where I have grown up! And if you're planning to elope here, you're in luck, because I've spent years wandering this patch of the world with a camera in hand, chasing light through fern groves and salt spray, looking for the spots that make people forget the camera is even there.

As your Gold Coast photographer, I get asked constantly: "But where do we actually go?" So consider this your map, part practical guide, part fairytale, entirely biased toward the places that have quietly stolen my heart. 10 Encha

1. Long Tan Park, Currumbin Valley, for the quiet romantics

Starting with my favourite of all the locations! Hidden away in Currumbin Valley, where the creek moves slowly and the trees have clearly been eavesdropping on centuries of conversations, Long Tan Park feels like the forest kept a secret just for you. Dappled light falls through the canopy like it's been invited specially. If your love story is the kind that unfolds in whispers rather than announcements, this is where you say "I do." This spot isn’t well-known, which is wonderful, as it is very quiet and there is something romantic about that. The best times of day for lighting are 1.5-2.5 hours after sunrise or before sunset. https://maps.app.goo.gl/oHkHHAoRc9q3BiEb6

2. Flat Rock, Tugun, for the ones who like the beach without stepping foot on the beach

There's something delightfully theatrical about Flat Rock. It has a beautiful grassy area overlooking the beach that is perfect for a small, intimate wedding without getting sandy! Arrive at sunrise, and the whole place turns gold and moody all at once, like the sky can't decide whether to be gentle or dramatic either. Great for both sunrise and sunset or a midday elopement, perhaps. This spot is a little quieter than the most famous spots like Currumbin Rock or Burleigh Beach, but it can get busy during the warmer months. https://maps.app.goo.gl/BCUB2tAYpJQHEtx97

3. Rosins Lookout, Beechmont Road, Lower Beechmont, for the adventurers

The drive up is winding, the air gets cooler with every bend, and somewhere along the way the coast disappears entirely, replaced by cloud-draped valleys and rainforest that feels older than time itself. This is elopement-as-expedition for couples who'd rather earn their "I do" with a bit of a journey first. If you aren’t into beaches or rainforest, this mountain-view backdrop is just for you! Perfect for a golden hour elopement followed by a sunset picnic if you wish. A wonderful location for dramatic landscapes and mountain glow. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7yrVRjLgFHVCwueu5

4. Kirra Community Centre, Coolangatta, for the ones who want the whole ocean watching

Perched high on Kirra Hill with views stretching from Kirra Beach to Snapper Rocks, this spot doesn't do subtle. Whales occasionally cruise past during migration season, as if even they wanted front-row seats. It's grand, open, windswept, and just a little bit showing off, in the best way. This venue is perfect for micro weddings that have a few guests, as it is accessible, close to toilets, and very cheap to hire just for your ceremony. Once the ceremony has finished, most couples head down to Greenmount or Rainbow Bay for those golden hour shots. https://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/Services/Venues-facilities/Community-centres/Kirra-Hill-Community-Cultural-Centre

5. Best of All Lookout, Springbrook, for the couples chasing the horizon

Aptly named, because it really might be. A short walk through ancient Antarctic Beech rainforest opens onto a view stretching all the way to Mount Warning and, on a clear day, Byron Bay. It feels less like arriving somewhere and more like the world quietly unfolding in front of you. This is for the adventure couple who just want a celebrant and a photographer to witness their love in a private sunrise ceremony. Not sure if many people have actually gotten married here, but it is definitely one spot that I love and could see myself getting married at. Once the ceremony has completed, let’s head to Twin Falls on a short hike and photograph your love under a waterfall and make a full-on adventure out of it! https://maps.app.goo.gl/JeVvccRVs2SYdJ6F6

6. Elephant Rock, Currumbin, for the golden-hour purists

Elephant Rock is a wonderful and popular location for elopements as it is one of the only spots on the beach where you can watch the sun go down. There's a particular kind of magic to standing at the water's edge as the sunrise or sunset behind you, painting everything in that soft, unmistakable gold. Simple, iconic, and reliably beautiful. It offers beautiful scenery and a wonderful backdrop for photos. If you are a beach lover or a surf goer and want to include your passion within your moment of love, this is the perfect location for you. https://maps.app.goo.gl/x99pK43bN2vjaxd4A

7. Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens, for the hopeless romantics

A lake, a stone bridge, a Japanese garden tucked quietly among camellias and roses, this is the kind of place that looks like it was designed specifically for love stories, because in a way, it was. Soft, romantic, and endlessly photogenic, especially when the maples turn in the cooler months. If you love the idea of getting married in a cottage garden or with a beautiful lake in the background, you have found your dream place. Each season of the year offers a variety of different scenery, autumn leaves, Winter blooms, Spring flowers and summer roses. Easily accessible and amenities close by, it really is a beautiful place to say I do. https://tmbotanicgardens.org.au

8. Tamborine Mountain Flower Farm, for the ones who want colour in every frame

I did say that Long Tan Park was my favourite, but this might just beat it! Located on a beautiful private property, rows of blooms stretching across open fields, sunlight catching on petals, the kind of setting that feels like it was plucked from a storybook rather than a map. If your love story deserves a splash of colour rather than green and gold, this is your spot. Flowers all year round in different colours and shapes, it truly is a unique location that you will only find here on the Gold Coast. Only for elopements with limited people! https://www.tamborinemountainflowerfarm.com.au

9. Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta, for the wild-at-heart

Right at the southern edge of the Gold Coast, where the coastline gets rugged and the rock pools catch the last of the light, Snapper Rocks brings a little untamed energy to the whole affair. Big skies, bigger waves, and views that feel like the edge of the world. Get married on the rocks with the Gold Coast beachscape behind or in the little cove that is Frogges Beach; you really can’t go wrong for a beautiful moment celebrating your love here. Sunrise is a little quieter for those of you who are introverted and don’t like the spotlight on you. https://maps.app.goo.gl/6fRwHuDDrWxn2Nz16

10. North Burleigh Headland, for the ones who love Burleigh but want it all to themselves

Just a little further along from its more famous neighbour, North Burleigh offers similar vibes to Burleigh Heads with a little more breathing room. Quieter trails, fewer crowds, same jaw-dropping coastline, a well-kept secret for couples who like their elopements the way they like their love: unhurried. Pop on the other side of the headland to Miami and nestle between the rocks for a wonderful little ceremony (Make sure it will be low tide though)! Once the beach ceremony is over, let’s head into town for some fun photobooth, pizza-eating snaps! https://maps.app.goo.gl/G7hAAV68zSP1RX7v8
